Why did you initially enrol on the barista training?
My interest in coffee field was cultivated when I was a part-time café all-rounder in Hong Kong during Summer. Therefore, I would like to learn more about coffee and gain more experiences locally to help find a part-time job aside from my studies in university.
Tell us about your experience with Boss & Brew Academy.
I learned a lot of theories of coffee that I was hoping to gain when I initially enrolled. More importantly, I gained experiences in using the coffee machine, frothing milk, extracting espresso, dialling in the machine, operating a cafe during the courses and etc. All these experiences were precious and fully cultivated my interest in coffee. It also improved my confidence of working in the coffee field in a foreign country.
What have you been doing since the workshop?
The course helped me successfully finding a job in Cardiff. I have been working in Yellow TSE since September 2022. I enjoy making good coffee to customers and trying out different latte art patterns. But having regular customers coming for their coffee again and again must be the most delightful thing of being a barista.
